Here's my new model. USA WWII zombie soldier. This model will go my own mod. The final textures will be black&white. Because the mod will be Sin City style black and white 1rst person shooter. Tri count is now 2140. I think I'm going to stay below 3000 tris. C&C are welcome

nice looking model, but were cornrows very popular in WWII?

Little update. Tri count is now ~2900. There are still too many polys, so I'll have to do some leaning. Tumerboy : Well I don't know about the cornrows in WWII, but the model will be wearing a helmet. So the helmet will cover the cornrows.

Hey, This is looking pretty good and I am liking the texture work you have done but I have just a few crits.
It looks right on the front and side views but for some reason the eyes look off on the 3/4 view... Like they are too wide... Might just be the angle playing tricks with me though...
On the tip of the boots you have some polys you can weld together to reduce poly count but keep the shape of the model. Also on the bicep there is an extra row of polys that can be welded together...
Is he going to be wearing shirt? because if he is you can take out the polys that define his stomach and only keep a row or two there for a little definition.
Also there is a seam running around his pecks and around his stomach that can be removed... Uh... thats about it.
Hope that helps...
Keep up the good work! Its looking great so far!

Thanx for the comments. EvilBlah : I'm gonna fix the things, that U mentioned. I'm going to reduce the poly count to ~2500. and yes the texture is from 3d.sk. The final body with textures will hopefully look something like this plus the head will be wearing a helmet.

It's a good start.

Have you modelled it with clothes or nude? (with the exception of the boots) The reason I ask is that you've modelled pecks and abs shapes on him, but the picture you posted of what you're aiming for, is clothed. Seems like you'd be better modelling the shapes as if he is wearing clothes rather than wasting polys on muscles you wouldn't see. I'd also work on making the lower part of the legs chunkier. His ankles look very thin, especially if he's meant to have boots on.

The face texture could do with some work to make it feel less like a photograph. Also, there is some stretching at the nostril and cheek area that needs fixing.

But it looks like its coming along nicely.

Why model and texture the hair when he is going to be wearing a helmet then?
