Here's a first look at an entry that Mark Brooks, Clayton Brown and we (René & Michel Koiter) worked on together for the TF GENESIS ARTBOOK coming in November 2002. This is our first TF piece ever that we're allowed to show...so it's very exciting for all of us. Keep a look out for more TransFormerly goodness by us four in December :D

Is this the book being released by Dreamwave? I went to a panel hosted by them at a comics convention here in Toronto. They mentioned they were getting a bunch of artists together to put out a big book of Transformers art.

The style is a tad bit different from the generation one series, but still beautiful, seriously if all comics looked as great as the different transformers books that are all coming out do, then I'd be a poor comic collector again. Right now I have been a friends copies of the Generation 1 and Armada series, and can't wait for genesis. Honestly I like the artwork from Armada the most, but they are all so beautiful, so much detail, dynamic compositions, great colours and lots of atmosphere, and unlike a lot of the other comics based on olders series the stories in the trans formers books aren't that bad, I mean has anyone read a thundercats issue, artworks isn't too bad, but the stories are worse than the original cartoon, which was terrible too.
can't wait to see more. Wanna see a better shot of mega tron ;)

gee just finished looking t your site, my apologies aobut the comments towrrds the thundercats, I loved them as a kid like evryone else, but seriously the stories are terrible, we were just too naive. The new comics are some of the worst writtien comic books I have read in recent times.

it took me a couple minutes to remember the devestator but now its all coming back to me. :) Its that one that was like 5 vehicles that snapped together to make a larger transformer? It looked so familiar but I couldnt figure out why.
I havnt seen any transformer stuff since i was a kid, when i got tons of that stuff for christmas and birthdays. Im sad that most of it is lost, broken, or sold at flea-markets
amazing work, there ! :buttrock: :buttrock: :airguitar
there a hidden message in this pict ?!?

Thanks for the kind comments everyone.
Alphatron: What you're reffering to is the TF PROFILE BOOK..that one's coming out in December by Dreamwave Productions (http://www.dreamwaveprod.com). It will contain all Transformers from Generation 1 with profile shots and text. A lot of artists are working on this and Mark Brooks is one of them. He has almost 20 entries in the entire four issue Profile Book and we're supplying the colors for those ones as well.
Say-g: The Genesis Book is a TF artbook containing present and past artwork of Transfomers (box art, concept art, some Dreamwave stuff and art from a lot of different artists). It's being published by 88MPHSTUDIOS (http://www.88mphstudios.com)
Kaiskai: Why apoligize man...it's ok. We also think the story sucks big time in the comics....and to honestly say...the cartoon story also sucks. We really like the character designs though...great design! The art in the comic is excellent...but hey it's a nostalgic trip to your youth :D
Again thanks for your time and support you guys. It's really appreciated. See you soon!

damn nice! with that, i'm thinking of going into my parent's attic and finding my Beastacons* and modeling them in 3D [i can't compete w/ that pencil work.
[*Beastacons, don't know if this is the right name. they were 5 animals that were yellow, orange, and black. they formed together and looked bad ass]
10-06-2002, 07:23 PM
heh, I have been "toying" with the idea of making Grimlock, the dinobot. he is cool.
heh I made a pun, toying man do I kill me sometimes.:surprised

You're probably talking about the Predacons....they from PREDAKING together. Here's pic to freshen your mind a bit :D

Man Preda kings design has change a bit in comparison to devastators.
As for the hidden messag Baby refered to, I think its the fact that above devastators head there is low flying plane in between to skyscrapers ;) Kind of suggestive as to the Decepticons mindset eh?
if it was meant to...
if it's a kind of hommage...why not...
but it's a picture that will be in my mind for ever....so maybe I extrapolate too much !!!!
10-06-2002, 08:02 PM
just so no one thinks I was laughing at the plane thing, I actually was gonna say how devastator is pointing at his crotch and grabbing megatrons head, i thought that was funny. the plane thing (tho i do not think Intentional) is not funny.
anyways just didn't want someone to think i was alughing at the wrong thing
10-06-2002, 08:13 PM
Strange visions you people got... :D
The plane thing wasn't done intentionally. Mark had to create a sense of height for the scrapers as well as Devastator. It was really obvious to put a plane in their since you can't put birds in it...a helicopter would be too difficult to make out since the the camera is tilting upwards and the only thing you would be able to see is a black round shape...it just had to be a plane.
in fact I'm pretty sure a lot of people will have the same vision.
but I think it's a plus...even if it's not meant to, it give a strong meaning much higher than the comic book drawing.
sure U'll be studied in school in 200 years !!!!!
10-06-2002, 08:24 PM
oh we know it wasn't really intentional, but it does add another meanig.
10-07-2002, 02:19 AM
Aw heck YEAH! I LOVE THE TRANSFORMERS :surprised
I loved them growing up, and I'm soooo glad they're coming back. Megatron is my favorite.
Great job! Keep em coming.
