probably shave and haircut....but its a plugin that'll cost ya money.

So i'm sure someone will have a reasonable alternative posted shortly.

Just had another thought....about this if you have bodypaint then one of the multibrushes is stubble which will give you a quick trial an error test and allow you to go from there.
also something like tdem or ditools can probably help do it cheap/free german site though...take a look. can't remember which one I would have thought someone else would have picked this up by now....and well given you a more useful ramble than mine. :rolleyes:

sorry that above about tdem is bull (its for particles i think). you could still use the ditools link as a texture to spline beard thing.

otherwise paul everett has a small expression thing for you to mess about on the cheap.
