View Full Version : Animating a camera walk through
ArtofacksOne 04-28-2005, 04:22 PM Hi guys!
I made a logo with a light and what i have so far is my camera set up at the top view. well I drew a half circle spline so the camera follows the curve and animates from the top view of logo to show the front. Is there a tutorial I may be able to follow so I can learn how to animate the camera and also how do i get the camera to attach to the spline so it follows the path and animates.
Thank You In Advance

hi there,
just right click your camera in the objectmanager, and choose the following tags:
-allign to spilne
-target
in the tag properties of the align to spline tag, you can drag and drop your spline in the spline path field. a little bit further down you can change the percentage of the position-> your camera will move its ass on the spline ;), this feaeture can animated in the timeline...
for the camera target tag you can also define an object that you drag and drop into the tag properties..., normaly a "null object" will do..., this defines where your camera will look at. In your case your logo could become the targetobject...
did that help?

1.Right click on your camera in the objects manager
-go to Cinema 4d Tags - Align To Spline
-a little window will show below your obj manager
2.Drag the spline into the Spline Path box.
-your camera will attach to the beginning of that spline.
3.Two rows down from the 'Spline Path' box is a box that says 'position'.
-this should be at 0%
4.if at frame '0' you want the camera to be at the beginning of the spline. and at frame '90' you want the camera to be at the end...then do the following.
-go to frame '0' and in the position box right click go to 'animation' 'add keyframe'
-then move forward to frame 90, change the position to 100% and right click go to 'animation' 'add keyframe'.
hope this helps
dang, you beat me to it
