I've installed Maya properly as far as I know and every time I come to opening it, it just says something like - Maya crashed but the system is okay. I have over 800MB Ram in the beast so it can't be that, it is however a Blue and White G3 which i further on down the scale for required models, but regardless it should open shouldn't it?

I have a suggestion. Buy a real copy! Jerk. The reason it won't start up is because you can not install the license properly!:D
Why do all of you pirates out there think we do not know that? Go back to your warez board and ask for help there!:p

Oh. I'm sorry. Did I hurt your feelings? (loser)

I'll tell you what, if I happen to come across 6.5K I'll cough up and pay for it - until then get real and accept nobody apart from a company or a kick-ass freelance contract is gonna buy a new release for a new platform.

Hah hah! You are calling me a loser!
This much you should know. I am running Maya 3.5.1 on OS 10.1 with no problems! No hang-ups, no crashes. It PAYS to be legit.:D
As far as I can tell, I am getting some work accomplished, whilst you are wallowing in the crap that is warezland my friend!:p You can not even run the program. Heh heh.
So who is the REAL loser?
It's not me!:)

By the way, it appears it is your feelings that are hurt. And running Maya on your ULTRA-MODERN blue and white G3 should be an exceptional experience!
:D Not!
Don't get TOO jealous now.
Cheers

The sad thing is if you keep telling yourself all this non-sense you might start to believe it. The only one thing I could agree with is the bit where you say, "It PAYS to be legit." The irony is that in this case you 'pay' through the nose for what some say is a sub-standard release, myself excluded.

Also with the emphasis on 'PAYS' you promote the thought that this must be your fisrt legal piece of software, backed up by the mentioning of 'warez' (twice I might add) suggesting you yourself are a regular 'visitor'.

What's worse is that you go on to, what can only be described as childlike in manner, slag off a computer based on a purely non-descriptive mentioning. You don't know what's 'under the hood' yet are aware of a colour scheme - tish tish!

All this and it took you two messages to say it ending on yet another childish note. I had to laugh when I looked at your profile and found out you were born in 1972, no offence to anyone else who was born in that year but I'm sure they'd be quick to dis-associate themselves given half a chance. Your attitude has a lot to be desired and your limited opinion towards the licensing of programs can only be seen as narrow minded.

Oh well, continue mincing away on Maya and try not to get distracted by your state of finances. Look at this way, should you actually manage to land yourself a job, be it freelance or company based you might be able to re-coup some of the costs and maybe be able to afford Maya again sometime next decade.

Ta ta Henry!

What does my birth date have to do with anything fool? As far as my mentioning of warez, we all know whats going on. Just don't bring that Crap to a legit users forum. Stick to your boards. I am sick of all of the warez talk as I am sure many others are.
Your computer is ..OLD! Get over it! The processor will fry on Create->Polygon->Cube!:D
Eat your Heart out Moron!
You like to come off as intelligent. Unfortunately, you are not. You want to bicker like a little bitch, but I am going to cut you off. I come here to talk about using maya, not fight with you!
Good Luck with the Warez.:p

Again with the childish antics and name calling. You should know when to shut up and realise when you're in the wrong. It was you who started going at me 'idiot' (attempting to accomodate for your bitterness). Anyway, I tire of you so don't bother replying and in future if you see something you don't like 'try' to ignore it - as the saying goes, "Ignorance is bliss".

ok ok ok people, let's be friends and don't fight...warez is everywhere...some people just can't pay for it...but I don't see any harm as long as it's for learning purposes. I'm a programmer and I can tell how it feels to get your work ripped-off but again if it's only for learning it's not so serious. There are so many people who can barely afford a decent computer and don't have money even to buy MS Word. Why not give the chance to people with limitted resources be able to learn! and become good artists so they can get a job, earn money and finally buy a full legit copy. I'm not supporting warez, it is ilegal to get money out of pirated software!
Big CG software companies are more concerned about companies and money making people using their warezed soft than those who have just a pentium II with 64 ram and a merely good graphics card which can hardly handle 3d graphics in a professional and profitable way. More people know their software, more money they (soft corps) will earn.

Peace.
