Very decent results, would be curious to see it from different angles and on more solid objects, what are you using to fake the deep translucency? I'll see if I can get permission to show something really fun on this same subject.. but would like to see more of what your doing here

A 3dcafe cow
The thing that's diffrent from ordinary glass materials is in the luminance.
The strucure is like this
--------lnverted buffy
fusion
--------fusion--lumas
------------------banj

wow, ver cool and very clever indeed. Nice renders too, though it wouldn't hurt to uses some better AA why couldn't you have figured this out ages ago. Don't realy need it anymore, but very smart and hanfy for anyone else that wants to have this effect. Now, how does it fair with three lights and a sky using GI?

i think he means in the luminence channel add a fusion channel shader with an inverted buffy and another fusion with a lumas and banji channel shader :surprised

I tested it on a bottle I.m working on to see how it looks on mare common glass objects in more common lightning. The first is with a luminace channel and the second without

So what are you going to show us Kai? :applause:
Another thing... what do you mean for INVERTED buffy? How can you invert it? :surprised

sorry haven't gotten hold of the developer yet :( Trying to see what I can do for all of you in the next ten days before I'm outta commision for 6 to 8 weeks, I mean I'll try to keep up with CGtalk while at the school of course, but the school will be priority, and the computer will be in storage till life is sorted out and home figured out, livin with relatives and lowspeed internet for a while :-\
As for inverted buffy, its simple take brightness/contrast form the sla textures, open whatever you want inside buffy, check fresnel and the just switch the high and low clips

@bjotto: It seems i'm not able to get any result similar to yours, do you mind posting the shader or a scene? I'm very interesting in giving solidity to glass stuff..

Ok we achieved a good glass translucency, now the next goal should be obtaining a prism raimbow fx... Any ideas?
