I was wondering what folks thought of this script idea for Max. Many graphic programs have adjustable guide lines for the user to set. You all know how they work, from the ruler you click and drag the horizontal or vertical line to the position you want. I see a real need for that in 3D. Sorry the grids just don’t cut it for me and anyway if it’s good for 2D why not 3D!

A second request is the ability to adjust the guides at diagonals. How would that work, normally you click and drag the line on to the work space. With diagonals guides you would click and drag to place a guide normally, then to adjust the angle you would click and drag ether ends of the guide from with in the ruler area. With a degrees read out you could fine and set the exact angle desired.

As illustrated in the image there are many other ideas to enhance this tool but I would be very happy with a X, Y, Z, guideline tool to start. So what do you thing good, bad or indifferent?
