Is there a way to transform a path into a set of keyframed position ?

I would like to use an effect which requires frame-by-frame position, and I have a path. I could use the motion sketch to follow the path, but that's a) not very precise and b) not timed evenly...

any help/hints/links ?

cheers to the AE guys !

When you say "path" I'm assuming you mean a motion path and not a mask. No sweat. Alt+click on the Position stopwatch and press Enter on your keypad. This will give you an expression for position that basically says, "Position is Position", and will honor your already set keyframes.
Now right click on one of your keyframes to get: Keyframe Assistants>Expressions to Keyframes. Now you have one position keyframe for every frame in your animation.

If you did mean "Mask" rather than "Path", select all the mask points and Cntl+C, click on Position, Cntl+V.

Good Luck.
