View Full Version : Male Head Study
Androgs 04-27-2005, 12:39 PM Hi all, to tell the truth, this one is my first post in 3d organic section and my second attempt modelling a human head character since Joan of Arc tuts http://www.threedy.com/site/forum/images/smilies/blush.gif . done in maya 6, first build with nurbs and then convert to poly.I really want to hear some crits about this study, I also have a question since I'm really a noobs in organic modelling http://www.threedy.com/site/forum/images/smilies/blush.gif , is it able to have a triangle face when modelling a head in poly? Thanks for the time http://www.threedy.com/site/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif

I think that the eyes are a bit too large. Also it looks as if the face was a bit too flat. The nose is a bit too deep in the face maybe, but mostly the poportions are ok.
Not too bad for a second human head. A human head is a hard thing to do because everyone is an expert in judging human faces and even the smallest errors are easy to spot.
Triangular polygons are basically a no in organic modeling, but if it doesn't look too bad in the render, then it is OK. Better still check how the triangle acts when animated, it can make a nasty crease in the surface.

Juzz, Thanks for your time to give me such helpful input:). I'm most agree with the eye, maybe I'll also fix the face and nose later. Thanks for pointing that!! any other feedback are very welcome here;).
