XP Pro with SP2 here, and have Maya 6.

After working on something; anything really, for a while, every time I load up a web browser, there's like sections of it or the whole browser that just doesn't...update, as in the areas stay white constantly.

And in Maya itself, I go to open some menus and it reveals a blank, white, rectangle, devoid of the menu options.

Is Maya such a memory hog that it's making my system go haywire or is it something else?

I would check to see if you have the latest drivers for your Graphics card. Similar problems have been reported due to this issue.

I have had this problem on Dell computers and matrox video cards, depsite if they are up to date or not. Dell WORKSTATIONS seem to handle it fine.... but any other dell has this problem(according to Alias).
