View Full Version : Desert
Hy,
that's my latest pic.
I've not used any image maps for texturing. Just procedurals an gradients (only the sky is a photograph)
comments are very appreciated :D

hey !!! that's really good
ground texture is the best i think in this image
(nice bumping in all elements)
lightning is very good too (oh sorry for my english :( !!! )
but i think it needs a sun bloom ..aa.. or shine (whatever?)
little tweaking in lightning and more contrast make this image
superb
cool work (an i would like to see it animated )
goodlag

Interesting image...
I do think that you have too much ambient lighting which is resulting in everything looking a bit flat - unless that's the look you're going for.
There also seems to be no specular map on the ground (or bump, for that matter). I think it would look better if you worked on that a bit.
I personally loathe procedural textures, and never use them. Painting your own is more fun and allows you so much more control over them. Plus they are more realistic than procedurals. But that's just me.
However, this is a nice start. I like the wheatfield beyond the fence.
What are the little creatures? They are pretty cool.:D
nice work!!!
is it a building?[in the right part of the scene ]
or plant dream world?
anyhow, I like it
:D
Thank you,
procedurals can be very handy sometimes.
I've wanteded that look being like this.
Not like a happy sunday morning in summer :)
little bit dusty and sad
Maybe a pre-apocalypse pic ;)
thanx and bye
christian
that thing on the right side is supposed to be a well :)
sorry ....is in "left".. HA ..HA...sorry...
:D :D
Do you render in lightwave or ???
yes, it's a sand-hut oder something like that :)
it as done with lightwave 7
the rocks are particles with hypervoxels and the grass was made with SasLite
i've also used some weightmaps for texturing
rendered with radiosity (montecarlo)
ok, thats all i can say about it :)
