View Full Version : Alpha Trans Casts Faint Shadow :(

I have a nurbs plane with a leaf texture including an alpha transparency... the nurbs plane insists on casting a faint ray traced shadow.

So I checked it with a checker pattern - both color and transparency - SAME THING! The areas that are supposed to be invisible still cast a faint shadow...

Same thing with a transparency alpha of completely black for the entire surface.
Same thing for a polygon cube...

I must've been daydreaming when someone was telling me how to avoid this...

Try turning the Shadow Attenuation (Material Attributes -> Raytracing tab) down to zero.

Thanks JBlaze! Passed right by it in my mind's eye - looked like it was part of Refractions - and since I hadn't turned that on....
