Hi all,
There are two new human models in V8 that can be used with your projects. But what if we could have a couple of dozen of them. I think we can if we all collaborate a little to share the workload. Here is my proposal.
I will create facial morph targets for Otto (one of the humans) that should more then cover your needs. This OttoMorph file will be accessible to anyone who creates a new Otto from a file that you can get if you are interested in the project.
A new Otto is any modified Otto that is useful to have in the Otto library. For instance a new facial shape, or a fat body (but in that case not just the belly but also the arms and legs neck that comes with it), an aged head, a female head, a female body, an elder body, different racial types ....in other words we are looking for the diversity you can find in the streets when you look around you.
But you can also think of a good rig. If it fits Otto it will also fit every modified Otto since Otto will still be at the base.
Or how about texture maps? etc. etc.
So what can you do with this OttoMorphLibrary? A lot! The new v8 Posemixer (part of MOCCA) will let you morph all these Otto shapes. In other words once you have the facial morph targets for Otto you can use them on a modified Otto as well. No need to make new facial morphs. Or an animated rig for big Otto that works on a little Otto(that is if someone made a child out of him). And come to think of it good poses (of the rig) are welcome as well because they can be used with the P2P library.
There are two restrictions: first one is that you do not place polygons from Otto's mouth on for instance his chin as you can imagine that would lead to strange results.
And second, you do not add any polygons or points, you can only modify the mesh.
If enough people are interested I will set up a file to create new Otto's with and a url were you can access the latest Otto's once they have passed control. Who will be the judge of that will be of later concern.
OK let me know what you think.
Cheers,
