View Full Version : PA Challenge - character - moonkie
moonkie 02-15-2002, 01:20 AM Never really design a 3D character before but I give it a try. Comments doesn't hurt but it can help me to improve further, that's what this challenge is all about for me & everyone to learn.
Anyway here is the post apocolypse character, no name yet & still trying to draw the concept art for the body.
Still need to tweak a bit maybe darken the goggles.

Test render with fur to the model. Trying to make the character survive in the cold of post apocolypse.

Pretty good for first character! Atleast you have enough skill to put together a character.... I am still learning to pull verteexs haha still on like page 100 on Inside 3D Stdio MAX 3 (Can't afford the next edition so nevermind the expensive art/cg courses!) Nice start.... I like the nomadic look.
One question though what package are you using?.... Maya with the FUR thing?....(for lack of the right termenology)

Currently I'm having a headache trying to rigged it, figuring out how to set it up so that I can pose the character.
I am learning via books to, "Inside Lighwave 6" by Dan Ablan. No money to join any art & Design school.
I am using Lightwave 6.5 with Sasquatch - plugin as furs

Yea learning from books is the only alternitive I can think of, beside sneaking into a class =). I tried learning lightwave but it was a bit hard to get started. Good luck on rigging it. I am sure the pose you come up with will be good.

Well actually he is wearing a skin tights to protect his skin.
Didn't turn up well I guess. I use a checkered texture.
Thanks for the comment.
