:thumbsup: My client are looking to deliver the first next-generation version of a critically acclaimed and commercially successful FPS franchise for release early next year. They are looking to recruit a Senior Effects Artist to help bring this vision to effect!
Key Responsibilities
· Regardless of the level, a Senior Effects Artist is expected to investigate new pre-production techniques and author next-generation special effects using proven pipelines
· Candidates in this role should be pro-active problem solvers who demonstrate a strong sense of creativity and respect for aesthetics
· Candidates should be from either an Art/Design Games background or Feature Film background; however they must demonstrate a comfort level in working with both "art and technical" disciplines.
· Must be willing to work under and take creative direction from an Art Director, CG supervisor & Lead Artist
· If coming from outside the game industry, will be expected to learn/understand how game-play and architecture issues can affect content creation and successfully develop workflows to compensate for such limitations on artistic content

Experience
· Above with at least 3-5 years cinematic/games production experience, 1–2 years creating realistic effects preferred
· Work in production team in various stages of modelling, texturing and lighting at very proficient level
· Communicate technical concepts
· Good aptitude for problem solving CG issue. Demonstrates an ability to think creatively to resolve technical challenges and limitations, investigate and advise.
· Excellent organization & communication skills

Understanding
· Advanced knowledge of:
Particle systems, post-processing, 2 or more 3D/2D packages
· Intermediate knowledge of:
Compression, computer/game hardware, character skeletons, image manipulation tools, command line systems, shader systems
· Basic knowledge of the following Real Time systems:
Rendering, dynamics
· Ability to visually communicate ideas effectively through use of non-computer mediums
· Strong understanding of good asset management practices.

Responsibilities
· Implementing next-gen quality solutions to visual effects production problems in the CG pipelines and subsequent authoring of the primary game effects assets
· Works with CG/Lead Art/Technical staff to ensure that CG assets are easily integrated into the game engine without sacrificing artistic integrity of assets
· Writes basic to intermediate level scripts and expressions within a CG package (i.e. Mel) to improve efficiency of various artist tasks
· Liaises with appropriate parties to ensure that his/her team is aware of other proprietary tools and that his/her team always has up to date versions
· Debugs skeletons, models, shaders
· Effectively uses AlienBrain asset management

Salary: negotiable doe + bens
Location: UK (SouthEast)
