Kudos on a terrific job with R8. Saved me having to buy Messiah (which still does not exist for the Macintosh).
I received my R8 Early Bird today. I must say I am very pleased and impressed with the worklflow improvements, not to mention the new modules.
However, I tried to install BodyPaint integrated with R8 but it is not compatible. I called tech support and he said I need to upgrade my BodyPaint v6 to R8.
Well, Rafi told me that I did NOT have to upgrade to the Studio Bundle since I already had Bodypaint 6, and had no need for Dynamix. (I have all the components of the Production Suite). And that Bodypaint 6 works with R8 and there is no upgrade for Bodypaint yet. Apparently I have to spend another $300 for the Studio bundle so that I can have the update to BodyPaint that will work with R8?
I called Rafi who turned me over to Christina when she found out that I had purchased R8 from a third party. Christina called me back and turned me over to Tech support. Tech support told me to call Rafi.
So I'm a bit confused and a little miffed. If someone would have given me a straight answer before I made my order I would have bought the Studio Bundle in the first place. There is no information about this on the Maxon website. There is an upgrade for Pyrocluster, and NetRender, but not BP.
So my take on this is: if you have the Production Suite (which I do), or you have BodyPaint (which I do), you must upgrade to the Studio Bundle. If you don't need Dynamix (which I do not) then you have the priviledge to go out and find somebody who wants to buy it from you.
In the mean time I have to wait until Monday to call Rafi.
I like the Tee Shirt.
