CGTalk - how to hide CV?

I'm working in polygon but I don't know how to hide vertices I don't want to see. How do I do this? The hide unselected CV is not working.

I usually select the faces around where im working
then use the isolate select -then pick mask verticies
( it only works with faces on polys)
