top pic is basic mesh.. bottom pic is when subdivided (tab)

i want to know why is the mesh bowing like this (note the little 'humps' between the lines).

i have a section with the verts nice and even, so why does it do this ?

Are those "humped" polygons 3-pointed? That would do it, i think.
