How can I adjust the global max height value for displacement mapping ina scene? I'm aware that you control displacement height in two different places. I already know about adjusting the displacement maps Alpha Gain to control height, but that appears to be inside a maximum range which is defined elsewhere. So depending on my scene scale, it might not be enough (which in my case here it isn't). Adjusting the alpha gain above 1 does not address this, and I cant find where to change the global height max value in the help docs. Can someone tell me where this other setting is?

thanks all :)

as far as I am aware the only place to adjust the height of a displacement map is in the alpha gain settings. I'm not sure why typing a larger number into there would be affecting it. Are you using MR or Maya Software? In maya software, you may need to click "Calculate Bounding Box" in the displacement attributes of the mesh (I'm not sure if that affects final render).

You could also try putting a multiply node between your texture and your displacement node...

Good luck!
