hah :) if you are religious enough to believe in "adam's and eve's creation story" you don't need a scientific proof! as you could guess science denies genesis. and well in case you don't know related knowledge here comes a theory : a belly button is the final form of an ambilical cord which is cut right after birth. so that means baby was connected to a mother's womb through a cord. here we can add this theory ::> if adam had a belly button, he %100 had a mother. if he had a mother he was not the first creation and eve was not the first woman! and think he had a father too unlike christ!

finally if you do belly buttons, you conflict with genesis...

;) well it's up to you to model your adam and eve with belly buttons, i just wouldn't that's all :)

U allmost convinced me to remove belly buttons, but i'm still wondering why didn't god make belly buttons too? Well he made breasts for adam and those was pretty useless for first human, maybe it was for details? belly is rather boring without belly button so i leave those there.

Very funny and realistic looking. Well that's what most people really have underneath their clothes (heehee). Real-life imperfect body structure. Is she going to have hair on their scalp? I believe the first woman was black...and came from Africa! :p

And yeah...I say God is both male and female. God does not care...cuz God is...God!

in fact i like these two, they are so original than the other "adam&eve"s..
hehe, i like their facial expressions. he has a "hi there lady, i'm Adam, i'm new here" look and she has a "hi adam, i'm Eve, i'm going to be the one you can't live with or without"

the toon style you have here makes me think you have a funny story about them to tell us (even you do not now maybe later you will have:)) looking forward to see whatever the final frame anyways.

are you planning to animate them? that would be neat..

Cool idea! I have often wanted to model a Adem and Eve as small pigmy's with features of all nations. Never had the inspiration to actually do it though. Really fun concept here, although I don't think God could have made all that woman with just one rib bone!

The tree like that is simple...I say it looks okay just the way it is. My fruit suggestion is pears. Aren't strawberries coming from the ground? Like from a bush? And yeah...get away from the apple notion...gives apples a bad reputation! :p

Yeah...for the kick of it...either put a big sign saying "Forbidden Fruit" or scratched out writing of it.

And yeah...who says the real Eve was made out of one rib! That's a Creation theory making women as afterthoughts.:p (naaaah!)

First off, overall this is great. It feels a bit awkward criticising work that's above my own skill level, but something's standing out.

I hope this won't come across as lewd, but anatomically speaking I think you're selling Adam a little short, if you take my meaning. Eve's breasts have obviously been influenced by gravity, but Adam looks like he's been wearing compression shorts (bicycle shorts) since birth.

To put it in the most mild sense, I think that perhaps Adam would benefit from some subtle scaling.

Well, i have had always that picture that there was some apples in the tree. Dunno exactly where i got it but I can be almost sure that it was told in the school.. I've seen lot of movies and animations where Eve eats an apple.. Are you sure that it isn't in the bible?

But anyways, was it apple or another fruit, your work is going on well, I like your style.. The tree is especially very well done.

Here is my old post about creating fur for shirt, but method is basicly same:
(If u need to translation from Blender jargon to normal jargon just say so)

Here is pic for fur tut.
There is shirt. (Bottom left)
Dublicate it and use frac subdiv few times (result bottom right)
Make single hair (left is from front view and rigth is from side view)
Make that sudivided mesh parent and hit dubliverts and rot button.
Result is in middle.
(use that non orginal mesh inside of dubliverts so there is no holes)

First off, I like them.. but to touch on several other posts. Technically speaking Adam and Eve wouldn't have a belly button (but for the sake of detail, it's better to have one in).


(for sake of conversation),

For those who were talking about how Adam came into existance:

Genesis 2: 4 This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created.
When the LORD God made the earth and the heavens- 5 and no shrub of the field had yet appeared on the earth and no plant of the field had yet sprung up, for the LORD God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no man to work the ground, 6 but streams came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground- 7 the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.


By way of the fruit being an Apple, there is no documentation on the kind of fruit it was, it is only as specific as 'fruit' that was grown on trees. If you really thought about it, the chances of that very fruit still being in existance today would be highly unlikely. You could go with a theory that because of the significance the fruit bears, (As it was from the tree of good and evil) that it was the only tree to ever exist. After the flood, the global climate had changed (pre-flood there is considerable evidence that the world had one climate, there was no polar ice or anything, all the water came from an ice firmament in the outter atmosphere, "Genesis 1:6 And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water.") So after the flood chances of this fruit becoming extinct is fairly high too. So really, I'd say go ahead and invent a fruit, be creative.

Now someone several posts back mentioned a 'scaling' issue with Adam... really, excessively corpulent men aren't usually well hung. Also the chances of Adam and Eve being of the size they are, would be slim, because of the environment and the duties they had to perform. but but I won't delve into that one, because it would be mainly speculation.

The whole idea behind Eve coming from Adam's rib is far deeper in symbolism that one might see at a glance. It says literally in Genesis 2:21 that God removed a rib, "21 So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and closed up the place with flesh. 22 Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.
23 The man said,
"This is now bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called 'woman,'
for she was taken out of man."

The symbolism coming in when talking about marriage, God referenced to that in the next verse, "24 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh", the 'one flesh' concept coming from the sexual union consecrating marriage.

So anyway, just some food for thought, many people were bouncing around ideas, so here's my two bits. Nice models, nice tree, that's all.

Anyway i updated tree a bit and made little test about how big tree should be:

Scene is finally building up in my head, it was little mystery to me, but i imagined little conversation between Adam and Eve:

Adam "But God said..."
Eve "God said, God said... Forget what God said and get me that freaking fruit"

So Adam stands on ladders(maybe one of those expandaple aluminium one, or "A" shaped, u know?) ready to pick fruit and looks down to Eve. Eve pulls little her sunglasses looking mean while lying in sexy position on her sunbathing chair (kind u can see on beach or poolside).
Still have to figure out what snake do in this scene.

Hmmm...you have such original concepts about your Adam & Eve. I really do hope to see it in animation form...cause it's pretty fantastic! Now you were talking about Adam having a ladder...did they have ladders back in those days?!? Naw....you're sure going for gags...I like the idea you have for Eve...she isn't the one to pick the fruit in the first place. Love it!:thumbsup: btw: Do you know what fruit you want in your scene yet?

Edit: Does there have to be a snake in there? How about an iguana...huh? And the texture of the clothes are excellently done!
