Good start....
Crit time....
- Get rid of lights there distracting and hide character...

- Im not liking the landings....you need more movement in the torso....the head movement looks to sharp without it....

- the characters centre of gravity is always in the middle.....remember a walk/run is in a way a fall but you catch yourself...as the character comes down have the body lean into it....this also give the impresion of waight and speed....

- also as the leg is about to contact the ground have it stretch out instead of going down...and have it happen sooner....

- try get some more rotation in the sholders

keep at it:thumbsup:

Good start here.. can you post another angle of the run besides the profile? a 3/4 or a front view?

To start.. I think Vivec mentioned it -- tilt Jimmy's body forward. You can really push it if you want (well.. as long as hes not 180 degrees parallel with the ground but even then you might be able to cheat it if it was really toony). He needs to be falling forward and catching himself with each step...

He making good strides here so you can make him move faster.. the legs don't need to be running faster if you want him loping along but he should be getting more distance with those strides. Like Vivic notes, stretch that front leg out.. he would stumble if you kept it bend how it is currently.

The arms you can do all kinds of way and always cause me the most problems.. try and find something that feels natural.. or let them hang for a comedic run.

Looking good :)

At this point I'd say lighten up the scene so everybody can see the model deform better, and if you want objects around to help show the speed of the character put them behind him to cause less of a distraction until you are ready to surround him by his complete environment.

Just some quick things on the cycle.
His forearm is staying nearly parallel with the ground, try swinging it more.
Also, his right foot appears to leave the ground before he thrusts forward, try fixing the timing on that a bit.

Nice start though, you have a good style going.

Yeah I'll get rid of the lights or just make em brighter, I stuck them in the just for the hell of it.
I'll get another angle of his run renderd off and post it up. I was trying to go for a really toony
run so thats why it may seem kind of odd, almost like the whole Pepe Le Pew where he just
kinda jumps up and hangs in the air a bit while the ground underneath him zooms by quickly.
Thanks for all the pointers, I'll do my best to implement them and I'll get an update up here as
soon as I can.

Thanks again guys.

Hey there I think it's a nice start. I have some opinions about the acting though. Right now your character is just in a running motion. You might think about injecting some purpose in the character while he's running. For eg, he could be running away from something or someone, or have a destination, or he might be late for an appointment etc. If that was the case the WAY he was running would be different. The animation would ultimately be more fun to do and watch. My 2 cents worth :)

Hmm thats a good idea Petertan, I'll try and come up with something for it.

I have got a different angle on him, its right from the front. The run looks really bad simply
cause I never really intended on showing him from the front but here it is. Im tweaking the run
and trying to add all the suggestions you guys posted so that should be ready soon.

The first thing I noticed is that the feet go sideways when they reach the forward position. I also think it feels kinda stiff but since your little fellow there looks like a "legoman" I don't see that as a problem... besides I am kinda tired of all those ragdolls everybody does...
