I grouped some items together and now when i want to rotate the group the rotation manipulator is facing the same way as the grid. Is there a way to make it so i can rotate the position of my pivot point or change the way the rotation manipulator faces. This might sound confusing but Thanks!

One solution [that is if I can make out what you are trying to say]:

Select your group node. Enter component editing mode. Toggle "Miscellaneous" on in your component selection mask [the little question mark]. You can now select the Local Rotation Axis [LRA] of the group node and rotate it to where you want it to be.
Exit component mode and you will have you rotations for you group node zeroed yet be inline with the direction you want.

** LRA rotation tip: use the angle snapping function on your rotation tool if you want to be precise.

Hope this helps.

Do what I stated above on the LRA of the object that you wish to rotate.

It is that simple.
