NGTV (located in Beverly Hills, CA) is seeking a TECHNICAL ARTIST to join our progressive, cutting edge TV production and post-production team.
Responsibilities:
Creating and production of wide range of graphic deliverables mainly for TV programming.
Creating 3D animations and effects as well as other graphics using dynamics, particles, mental ray and scripting.
Build charcter rigs; skins/binds models to skeletons
Write scripts & expressions within a CG package (i.e. Mel) to improve efficiency of various artist takes
Research the best tools for the project workflow, help in pipeline optimization
Participate in pre-production planning to determine & address technical issues
Excel as a team player to strive to maximize team/department performance
Mentor & train others in areas of expertise.
Performs special tasks as assigned.
Requirements / skills:
Art or technical degree or equivalent experience
Minimum two years experience
Strong technical expertise in Maya and Adobe Photoshop. Knowledge in other 3D packages such as Cinema 4D helpful, but not essential.
Must have strong knowledge particularly in: mel scripting, dynamics & particles, shader systems, texturing, modeling, rigging (expressions, set driven keys, etc.), fur, cloth, hair, lighting/mental ray, rendering, camera matching, image manipulation tools, inverse & forward kinematics.
Good aptitude for solving CG issues
Ability to think creatively to resolve technical challenges & limitations
Must have good aptitude with CG oriented program languages
Strong sense of detail, creative and organized, ability to reprioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organizational, communication, & interpersonal skills.
Strong visual communication skills; ability to present complex ideas and processes simply and effectively.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team, must take direction well from different key team members.
Ability to meet high-pressure deadlines with high-value product.
Proven inter-personal communication skills including ability to deal with all levels within the company
