I have yesterday finished my entry for the 3DAttack olympic character contest, round 3: animation.
Thought i would post it here.
In the end i was running short on time (isnt it always like that?) and I have plans on ironing out some things I am not 100% content with in the future (there is a weird neck deformation in closeup, I need better Motionblur for some scenes with the spaceships & there is an unwanted deformation in the back of the character due to a rig that could need some improvement) but in general i am quite happy with it.
The dark look is wanted, matter of taste i guess.
wanted to pay homage to the old Heavy Metal (Metal hurlant) comics of the late 70s with Moebius, Bilal & Corben , artistic heroes of my youth.
Software used is Cinema4d (the contest was C4D only), I used the Stormtracer-Plugin for the dust FX.
No postproduction , pictures are straight out of the renderer.
