it's because six sounds cooler, and 3 versions later they will save on packaging design and just deliver old packagings with the cardboard cover slid on the box the other way around.

it's all part of a plan to save money on that stuff and put it into implementing Xdugef in the modeling panel in v9.

for the record, a plan to relocate the dev team in tibet is already being actuated, so that between versions 7 and 9 they will be aided by the dalai lama in reaching that state of ascetic meditation needed to implement the new features.

I heard about this. Has Softimage given a reason as to why they're making it version six instead of 4.5 or 5? Or are they simply waiting longer to release the next version than the typical six-month release period?

Where did you picked that rumor? In case you were referring to my comment on XSIBase, just keep in mind I'm always right and always tell the truth.
