This is cool, I especially like lifeform 00683012 on the website - kinda like a futuristic space jelly fish.. speaking of the website, I really love the style with all the statics readouts and such.
This is great inspiration for me to code up some real-time gfx with a similar style.
Cool! :)

Dude that's just kinda cool to look at. How did you texture it. I'd love to hear your process.

Glad you like it :)
Actually the process is fairly simple.
The material is a blend with a falloff mask, both materials are of standard type, first with self illu on and electric material on diff (20), Opp(50) & bump(5) slots.
2nd mat is 100% self illu and have the same bitmap on diff, bump & displace (10) slots.
The form itself is straight modelling not something particular there.

not that i can do that
but i think you should make it more structial
right now its just this blob sort of, make it more shapped. Like in final fantasy the movey. the spirit had a shape like tenticules

Rason, thanks for your input., actually in this particular series i wanted that 'abstractness', that fusion between form and graphics.
Trust me it was far easier (and tempting i may add) to articulate the forms and form them more 'realistic', actually this will be the subject of the upcoming lifeforms II series. :)

nice work, indeed very suitable as my next wallpaper ;)
reminds me of final fantasy: the spirit within
inspirated by it, maybe?

Thanks guys! :)
Nevermore, not exactly, at least in the conception period. During the texturing proccess i noticed a slight resemblance, i 'll experiment more towards it someday in the near future...
