View Full Version : References?

Does anyone know a good website for references? Particularly poses and faces? I have looked all of the place and haven't found anything good, but I was wondering if maybe one of you guys knew of any good websites. Thanks for you time!

Probably the best out there.

Another place where we can find some interesting poses sometime is in the Stock section of DeviantArt. Some users have some good pose creativity and sometime we can ask for a specific pose for them to shoot, if we have it in mind. Though, it is sometime hard to find something really worth it but still. ;)
I usually find the best reference to be myself in front of a mirror.

Mirror, live modeling, and a well polished knowledge of anatomy works wonders (this so you can warp you body and make it more feminine or masculine or childish, etc.) But if I had a digital camera I would sure take tons of pics. ^_^ It's easier working from 2d to 2d though you have to be careful cuz it can look kinda stiff...

StephanD- I've actually seen that website before, but as far as poses go, they are really stiff and doll-like, if you know what I mean. They are relaxed. It's a nice place for learning skin tones and hair but that's all I've found useful there. Thank you though.
Lilie-I know about the DA Stock section. And it does work wonders, but it's really hard to find a good stock photographer in there. Do you have any favorites?
oz haver-I think your right about that. I just wish I had more time to snap references like that, hehe. Thanks for the help! :)

I personally like using domai.com. There are tons of beatiful pictures of what they call "tasteful nudes".
Most of the site is commercial, but they have a daily free picture and some free pictures in their weekly newsletter.

Also try some of the model agencies' sites - like this one for example :

i always go to www.corbis.com (http://www.corbis.com) probably one of the best places to find refrences because u can just type what u're looking for and a big list of pictures will come up..sometimes it's very hard to find exactly what u want though..finding good refrences is not that easy
not sure what u're looking for but corbis is a great place to look for any pictures in general.
