Hi,

program version: Maya 6.0.1

I want to bake some camera projected images into textures using "Batch Bake (mental ray)". Every step of the process "seems" to be very clear to me, since I did this in XSI several times. But the uv placement of all the resulting textures were wrong till now.
I tried everything I could think of at the time to get the "lightmaps" right, but the only thing - which besides seems very strange to me - I could find out, that the aperture settings of the projection camera got an impact on the projection, though the FOV was the same (Fit Type in Camera Projection is "Match Camera Film Gate").
Another thing: Rendering the projection into render view will output the following error message:

"// Warning: (Mayatomr.Nodes) : cameraShape1.message: unsupported type of connection, current plug value used instead //"

I will attach a picture, which should provide an overview and the scene which belongs to that.

ciao,
nando.

...trying again to fight the issue, I found out something. This strange "filmback-aperture-change influencing the baked projection"-thing led me to try'n'error to find out the values for the aperture, the baked texture would fit the projection in the viewport. Of course, changing these values also mean changing the focal length, since I don't want to change the angle of view. The result of this is, that as long as the focal length would be at a value of 25.4 mm (means 1 inch), the baked texture looks right. I didn't think in deep about that yet, but I like to provide the info yet.

ciao,
nando.
