CGTalk - Concept working

This is the first actual piece ive done with my wacom tablet i purchased about a month ago. its taken me this long only because of redoing, homework, and work. otherwise this woulda been done a while ago. oh well... slowly but surely.

im liking it so far. kind of a cross between a dig. painting and lineart i think.

notes: its a concept for one of my races for a story im working on. The race is of a dragon breeding/dragon type culture and live in the central parts of the lands withinin the mountains. I plan to have a small river, and the capital city located at the bottom of the mountains. Also, on the close up hill, a dragon with a scout rider ontop. ive made a point that i will have No trees, as they are unable to grow through the rough rock. Also, a storm is coming.

id say about 13hrs so far in total. approx.

Hiya, looks pretty cool so far. The only thing i'd say is that the moutain shapes look a bit repetitive.

This one is really great. I agree with the repetitive nature of both the mountains and the clouds, but the rock structure is great.

i have made a few changes taking the comments into consideration as they were right. the clouds and mountains were a bit repetative. So i did some fooling around all morning today and so far got this down.

well, i thought to myself. since this is a concept, why would i add other creatures or characters? so this is just a concept of a city i have in mind.
