Please define "post editing"
if you have some cinema rendered multi-layerd
footage that you need to composite effects on to
adobe after effects 5.5 with the cinema AE export plugin
might be your best option
if you want to composite a wide variety of post effects then combustion is better
I have Combustion2 for MAC OSX and adobe after effects and use both for
different things.

Now if you have alot of clips that need to be organized/assembled into a longer movie and have multichannel soundtracks added ,you need a proper nonlinear video editor We use Apple final cut pro3 for this.
