View Full Version : Quadro and Maya problem!!!
Hi people, I need your help please.
I moved my copy of Maya to my new Dell M70 laptop, and I am experiencing some display problems with Maya.
The problem is that I canīt use the tool otions menu (you know those with the little box icon next to the tool name).
If I open one of these, they appear empty, with no options inside.
Some of those menus work fine, and others just have half the options displayed.
I work with Maya 6 and a Quadro fx go 1400 with the latest drivers.
Could anyone help me with this problem please, I have some work to finish and I really need this working.
Thanks.
I attached a screen shot of the empty menu.

Ok I had the same prob. I thinck its a permision issue. I never fixed it, I never knew why it acctually does that. When I ran the comp on my personal account it did that. But when I ran it on the administrative account it works fine. So try runing on your administrative account. I dont thinck its a grafix card or hardware issue.
If some one else has a fix please post.:bounce:
Ok I fixed the problem!!.
To fix this issue just change the DPI scale.
On some Dell systems, Maya apparently is missing some or all controls in some or all option boxes or dialogs. Specific sliders are not drawn and option boxes may be sized incorrectly or appear empty.
Change the DPI settings for screen resolution(XP), or default system font size(Windows 2000), restart your system and change it back (and restart again).
On Windows this is in display properties: (right-mouse on desktop -> properties), Settings-> Advanced -> Display DPI Setting(XP), or Display Font size(Windows 2000). )
Mine was at 125% because I work at 1920 X 1200.
I turned it to 96 DPI and MAGIC ! it works fine, though everything is very small now.
I found the solution following this thead (Maya display fixes: Q & A) page 7

Good luck

I just got a Dell M70 and just realized that the Nvidia FX Go 1400 is NOT qualified for use with Maya. What crap. And I cannot live with the micro text that you have with 96 dpi. If I don't find another solution I'm going to return this.
OH. okay, I just read the full statement from the Alias site. You just need to change the settings, restart, change the settings back, restart, and now you have your menus with your initial sizes. So, no microtext. yeah. what is with these glitches.
