Hello, this is room made to ilustrate a high standatd place to listen music and rest. I used Max 5 scanline render, using radiosity advanced lighting, and photoshop to make the color corrections and apply the vegetation. Any comment welcome.

Absolutely beautiful work... but in all honesty, that'd be a horrible place to listen to music - waaayyyy to much echo. You're gonna need a lot more carpet than that. lol :scream:

Seriously, you actually think we believe that is a render? Obviously that is photo, your not fooling anyone. Nice try tho...

LOL I'm joking! That is an incredibly real render tho. I love the marble effects around the edge, and the speakers look great, and lighting is very very good. TEACH ME!! :P

Keep it up...wanna see more!

I agree with the rest. I don't know if I would want to live there though. It seems you would need a wife who would say nothing about your shoes, once they're off your feet. And I need my wife more that my interior.

Gday mate,

This is easily the BEST room picture I have EVER seen. What a lot of people do is create this intense brightness outside any windows or doors, locking off the outside world and turning it into a giant white cloud. Although it looks cool in certain aspects, the way you have actually shown the exterior really brings the image to life. It's not quite photorealistic yet - the only thing which made me say this was the skyscraper in the distant background... it just looks a little flat with little shadow. Other than that;

Seriously top notch :buttrock: 10/10 I.M.O

Great job, just a little comment.
The light in the back wall, looks like halogen lamps, if that so, the cone of that light dosn't represents the photometrics of halogen lamps.
Are you using IES files???? or just some sopot light from max???

Amazing picture, great modelling, texturing and the lightning is perfect.

The blurred plant near the camera is cool this blurred, but when I think some more, then the focus is in the room and everything as far away as the city should also be blurred.

Great render but it lacks the detail that make it truly appear realistic. You should have gone the extra mile and put some wires from lamps, speakers...etc....add some wall outlets and minor stuff like that...adds alot to a realistic image as such....are there render times and a wireframe for this? Posttttt em'....

good stuff

Great job of lighting, knowing that you did it with the scanline makes it even more impressing. Infact some details about your lighting setup would be great, theres nothing better than learning from masters. :)

Anyway, stunning interior. Keep us posted with more stuff.

Wow. I myself was experimenting with 3DStudio Max 6.0 a while back and although I tried, I never created anything as convincing as this! (I am more of a cartoonist.) You, my man, are an inspiration. Your post has motivated me to get back into 3D.

The view of the pool through the side window/glass door is a nice touch and I like how you actually made the tiles wavy because of the reflection on the water. That red picture/hanging on the wall above the stereo is awesome. It looks like modern art and I love it. If it were an actual painting, I would buy it. The little red ball in the center of the table near the two books/two DVD cases is also a nice touch. Subtle but interesting. I also like the textures you applied to the mini-couches. It actually makes them look real. That's the beauty of this whole thing, it looks like I could just step into it. That "penchant" light on the left is so modern-looking. Those two lazy boys and staircase are a nice element and, overall, I LOVE this room.

The two things I don't really like are the renders of the vegetation and cityscape on the left. They are good, don't get me wrong, but I just don't think that they mix with the overall style of this render. They are a little too blurry and indistinct. Moreso the vegetation than the cityscape. Making the leaves a little more distinct and sharper would help.

I would definately love owning a place like this.

I have only one critique, I believe the pool would show a reflection of the bushes rather than the tiles below the surface. If you plan to make any changes on your image I suggest you look into this idea.

Great work!

All scanline? Pardon the skepticism, but this looks just like a V-Ray rendering. I've been working with radiosity since Lightscape and I've never seen anything like this that came from scanline radiosity. I'm seeing subtle shadows at the base of objects at the floor. I'm also noticing glossy reflections. If this is scanline, please tell me how you go about getting glossies.

Amilton Diesel
10-20-2005, 02:15 PM
ctjay76, the answer about the glossy reflections is: Photoshop. and a good render in passes, that's it.
