View Full Version : Default Screen size at start up???
nessjp 04-16-2005, 05:21 PM Hi,
Odd question here. Not a big deal, but annoying anyway.
Every time I start Maya, It does not take up my full screen like its default is set for a lower screen resolution. I have to Maximize it everytime befor I start whatever I plan to do. I have saved preferences numerous times, deleted my prefs, whatever. No fix.
I am sure that it is something with me as I cannot really see everybody having this issue. Maybe it is something with my resolution although I cannot work with any other setting on my monitor. It is a 21" Samsung 213T LCD set at 1600 x 1200 resolution.
Any way to fix this annoyance?
Thanks

Right click the shortcut that points to your maya executable, which is usually on your desktop, go to properties and see if there's something called 'Run: Normal Window' or similar (dont know if this applies to os'es other than w2k/xp), and change it to 'Run: Maximized'.
Another way to fix this would probably be to max the (not maximized) window to your screen extends, close the app and restart it. Windows recognizes the last used size of the window.

Excellent! That's been bugging me too!
Edit[1]:
Windows recognizes the last used size of the window.
and that doesnt work for some reason.
Edit[2]:
Im running at 1600x1200 too so maybe its to do with that.
Applause to Floze :applause:

I have this same problem, and that doesn't work for me either. I'm running Win 2k Pro. I'll try the other fix though, thanks!

Hum, strangely enough it works for me.. that's maybe some windows voodoo.
I have strange things going on sometimes with windows sizes, folder sortings, folder type, folder details, etc.. sometimes it resets itself, sometimes it's configuring itself... alien intelligence probably.
Floze your my hero... i was Just about to post a question about this topic.
