Hi!

Snail is a very short movie, and one of my first 3D composite.
I shoot (poorly) the plates with a Dv Cam, the 3D is made with 3dsMax, and the compositing with After effects.

I currently work in videogames, but doing Vfx is really what i want to do.
I'm only doing this kind of stuff for 3 months, and i'll be happy to have some comments, critics and advice in order to improve my work !

nice done :) The lighting looks good, matches up really well with your footage, one shot is a little bit too shaky, even for a bad cameraman ;)

Thanks Job., and you're right: too much shakiness !
I'm going to fix that.

The compositing is Very nice with the translucense showing through the skin in the 2nd shot. The shakness can be fixed by using "stablize" funtion in Combusion, hope that help~great job~!

Wow, I jsut recently did a snail animation piece and this is where I was headed next. Great work man, great work. Realistic but still has that touch of style that makes it interesting to look at. It's got some quirky humor to it as well.

Well done!

I like the shaking cam. In most cases, the 3d layers pop out due to poor tracking. The fact that it stays with it makes it seem more real.

Nice work.

That was incredible. Great compositing, modelling, animating. The only flaw is the shaking, but can easily be fixed within aftereffects using the built-in stabilizer.

not that my opinion will matter much here lol (being new and all)

but i think the shakiness really adds to the realism... it gives it a hand held/zoomed in home video depth... really nice

very nice camera tracking as well, it is HARD to track hand held actually...

can we know a bit more on how you managed to track this dark shots?... thnx :)
