Hi guys and girls
I have a quick question for technically oriented advanced photoshop users...
I experience slow brush stroke update in photoshop, when using a tablet (intuos 2) on larger images (300 MB size and up), often combined with many layers.
Is the key for a better performance more RAM in the computer?
Or is it some other technical aspect I should consider?

I have 1.25 GB of RAM on a 1.6 GHz G5 mac.

Thanks for the help!

A trick I sometimes use is to marquee select the area I'm working in - this speeds things up considerably in a lot of cases since PS doesn't have to work out what's going on in the entire layer, but only in your little selection (if it's small)

In your particular case though.. with 300 mb files (with lots of layers?), I'm guessing the problem is ram as you say, so this may not work. Give it a go though.

All the best

A good tip there
I'll try the marquee idea out.
Just noticed too that 300 is a bit small - I have about 700 MB open, so that should explain a lot.

More RAM it is then

Thanks!
