Hi All,
I'm experiencing a strange problem and wondering if anyone else has. When loading any .Map HDR image into a scene, it renders fine on the local workstation processors alone. But when I enable a Satellite, the render region locks up. The local machine will take the first 5 buckets or so in the render region, and upon awaiting the additional buckets from the Satelite, everything will simply stop. No error message, no nothing; the application simply stops responding. This happens using Satellite and Batch rendering with HDR .map images. I have done exhaustive environment variable testing here and have been able to reproduce the problem consistently across a spectrum of configurations. When I swap out the HDR image for another image in the same directory, say a JPG, everything works perfectly. No firewalls, all mapped drives are visible to all machines, no obvious network trauma, full versions of XSI installed on all satellite machines. OS is Windows XP, with the dongle on a dedicated SPM machine on the network-again, all visible, all TCP/IP port mapping working fine in every other configuration.
I have been using 2 different tutorial files off the Media CD: RCO_e1_Rainy_night scene and rendering after loading the kitchen.map HDR file; also LIT_e4_Toxic_reflection_done scene.
Any help or input would be appreciated. :banghead:
