Hi all,

I'm very new to 3DS max and i need some help. Whenever i move the object round. (middle mouse - grab and move) for example, the object switches to wireframe while it moves then goes back to shadered view. Is there a way i can keep it smooth shaded while i move it around and rotate it etc??? I could in Maya but dunno how to do it in Max

Would appreciate any help.

Cheers

excellent... cheers. Is there also a way to show all objects double sided or does that have to be flagged for each individual object? Cheers

Assing the same material to all objects and mark double-sided on the material properties :)

Thanks.... i'm sure i'll be back to ask more questions... Cheers for your help.

If anyone else reads this and knows of any tutorials for complete beginners (how to create a box sort of level) just so i know how to get around the interface, it'd be much appreciated.... cheers

www.scifi-meshes.com has a few. They are directed to scifi, but the principles are all the same. :)

There is also a checkbox in the general render dialogue for "force 2 sided".

Not to be a bastard, but you might want to get into the habit of searching for your answers first before asking here. Alot of what you asked has been aswered before here.
Oh, and please read the "Read me first" topics first. :)

Good luck with learning 3ds max!

hi!

I am working on this http://www.airbornegrafix.com/HistoricAircraft/FlyingWings/YB49.htm plane, and i have a question...so, in the plane's body, there are thin lines, or small blocks, and i don't now which is the easiest way to do them...well, i first think do them with bevel , or with bump mapping...but if u now an easiest, or better way to do them let me now please...is there a way in 3d max 7 to scratch lines to the model's surface, and they can be seen in the rendering too?
