Hello all. This is a pencil sketch WIP that I've added color to. Originally, it was the "Beast of Burden" for the 3D challenge... that I never finished.
Anyway, I've never really colored anything in Photoshop before, and I'm finding it's really enjoyable.
However, my technique could use a lot of work. For instance, painting from dark to light is obvious enough (although I suppose I don't really have to), but I'm a little limited in Photoshop brush knowledge and basic painting approaches. The look I'd love to achieve someday is seen on http://www.eatpoo.com/

That guy's work is fantastic. Does anyone know of some good reference or tutorial I could glance at?

Thanks much,
Chuck

I don't think there is any tutorial available that's going to teach anyone how to paint like roundeye. The guy is a digital painting master and I suspect his talent has something to do with a deal with the devil. His work is unworldly ... to say the least. But, if there were such a tutorial available, I'm sure we'd have all found it by now. :D

I like what you have done here ... you're certainly skilled enough to make a good illustration with one of your first attempts with Photoshop. I don't see anything that would suggest that you haven't done this before. So, keep painting ... and the rest comes naturally.
