Hi,
I need to improve this demo reel eventhough I said it is finished. Please give as many critiques as possible. It is a story about an octopus that was fighting for its survival at a takoyaki stall. The programs I have used are Softimage XSI, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects.
Here, I would like to thank all the people who has helped me through my tough, but fun school days in VFS. THANK YOU!!

My online website is http://www.vfs.com/~3d48wendy

For direct link to my demo reel, it is http://student.vfs.com/~3d48wendy/demoreel/3D48_wendyyong_web.mov

It is 3.2mb in size. Please make sure you have the most update quicktime movie program.

Ha Ha Very Cute! He Inked Him! The octo-ped walk cycle at the begginning was cool! Musta been kinda hard.
Critique, there is too much movement on the octupus' head when he first gets dumped into the batter. Its a little "swimmy". A hold would have been nice, or scale down the curves.

Hi Wendy.

1st off you're piece worked very well and some of the acting you have in you're piece works really well, I especially like the part when one of the squids is relaxing in the batter that was awesome. Turned out nice gj wendy

Hi C-Hotchkiss,
Yeah, ink that evil pig!! hehe. Yes, the octo-ped walk cycle was really hard... the thing is that octopus swim, they don't walk. >_<
After looking at the part you mentioned about the "swimmy" feel, I think another problem is with the swing of the head. It was not following a smooth arc, kinda bumpy. And if I have to rework it, I think I will hold the character to look at batter a bit longer and then swings quickly to look at the arms and also smooth out the curve 10-fold. Thanks a lot for your critique. I really appreciate it!

Good job finishing up your reel. I know you worked really hard and it shows. I love your characters -- especially the part where the little guy's suction cups stick to his face!

Other then some of the slight animation issues, I love it, very cute, great music. I know if my son was older then 5 months he would love it, he loves his octo toy that he has now. :D
