View Full Version : Can't scale enviromental maps?
Levitateme 04-13-2005, 05:29 PM I hope someone knows how i do this. i have a enviroment node in my ...enviroment material slot, with a hdr image. and the image on my metal objects is just a huge blurry white spot. i have tried everything from scaling the uv's and scaling the transformation on the enviroment node, but that does nothing. anyone know how i scale this down?

Are you sure it is an issue of scale, and not of HDR exposure? Try lowering the HDR exposure level in the image source node (adjust tab methinks). All I got at the moment.

hi jdex, no its definetley huge. i put a hdr image on my guys blade and on the reflection it comes off as these 2 huge white colors, its just a huge image on my eyes reflections though, them look great. but on my guys blade its just awful. this is actually not just this scene its on a few others that i have these what look like huge images. yeah to be shrunk down is what i was after.

Yes, I've just encountered this problem myself. I needed to scale down ( or tile ) the Enviroment map but changing those Transform numbers didn't do anything reasonalable. I ended up tiling it in Photoshop instead. Luckily it wasn't HDR image.
