Seeking an experienced Art Lead to drive and manage the creation of stunning and innovative visual graphics for our externally-developed Xbox Racing games.

Ideal candidate has extensive experience in 2D/3D art production processes and techniques for console games as well as exceptional creative talent. Finely-honed communication and negotiation skills are a must as the Art Lead will be motivating and supporting the art team of one or more of our external development partners.

As Art Lead you will be working very closely with our internal product team as well as the external product team to define the artistic vision for the game as well as manage the graphics production effort. You are the owner and the enabler of the visual quality bar ensuring it is consistent with that of the Racing games portfolio. You work arm-in-arm with Development, Licensing, Marketing, and Program Management to ensure that we are shipping world-class graphics on schedule. You are able receive direction well but are also able to make strong, self-directed decisions proactively, you are detail-oriented. A firm understanding of the entire game development process is vital. You can multi-task across two projects under the pressure of shipping deadlines gracefully. You are a leader and are able to alter your management style to accommodate the personalities of our development partners to ensure their best performance. You thrive in an environment of innovation and excellence.

Qualifications:
BA in Graphic Design or Fine Arts and a minimum of 3-5 years professional art experience in games industry is required including the following basics:

in-depth knowledge of 2D and 3D art tools and techniques including Photoshop and at least one major 3D package.

Proven experience in effectively communicating technology issues with developers and strong knowledge of the game development cycle is vital.

Must have experience in building and maintaining an art production schedule and managing a team of artists.

Candidate should have excellent communication and team leadership skills. Passion for motor sports and/or racing games is a strong plus.
