The Technical Design Lead manages the 3D production process, animation pipeline, character creation (modeling and weighting) and building of structures.
They support the Visual Lead by providing technical guidance, solutions to visual concepts and assist in their directing of the project.
The TDL is also responsible for directly managing animators, modelers and structure artists on their team; therefore, strong communication, leadership and management skills are required.
Knowledge of applicable platforms should include: Photoshop, 3D Max, Maya (preferred), Softimage, FilmBox and/or Lightwave.
Background should be in game-production or 3-4 years in feature-film or 3D post-production experience desirable.
A Bachelor's degree in computer science, industrial/product design or equivalent experience required.
The Technical Design Leads report to the Technical Design Manager.
