The cars look wonderful! I think they are a bit too crisp in the image though... maybe some slight focal blur and some grain would help... Otherwise it's almost perfect in the picture. REALLY good job!

They are perfect!:D

I would like a little in how they were done...I am assuming HDRI and that background is a picture...right?

Excellent modeling...excellent texturing...excellent pictures!

You have excellent 3d skills. What is it with lightwave users and cars? Would it not be cool to make something that you dont have to just look out your window to see? LoL, Id like to see someone make their own car design with some originality and that amount of realism. Wouldn't that be cool? It's a great image, dont get me wrong, but that's something I've always wonder.

dude dude dude, rock on. :buttrock: those are fantastic. reminds me of this image (http://www.lightwave3d.com/gallery/spgm.php?g=LightWave3D&p=106&frpg=9&f=#pic). did you perhaps make that image as well?

funny that BigD brought that up bc that's something we've discussed before. I AM NOT starting an app war here (BY ANY MEANS, SO DON'T THINK I AM OR I WILL TYPE IN MORE CAPS - ahhhh), but it does seem that really phenomenal lightwave users put all of their wonderful talent into making something that they can take a picture of, thus (in my mind) kind of eliminating the coolness of 3d. it's great to see that you have flexed your creative mind and made that cool looking car. you've got to texture it and put it in a scene! :bounce:

again, terrific work, by no means does your pursuit of realism take away from those stellar images. and furthermore, congratulations on making it into the Lightwave gallery, quite an accomplishment and you should be proud.

and, just to cover myself so i indeed do not start an app war nor come off as a lightwave basher... this post is based on MY exposure to lightwave users/galleries. i realize i am probably way off about a large portion of lightwave users and their creation of absolute realism, menithings comes to mind just to name one that i am aware of. please, if you are an exceptionally talented lightwave user that creates photorealistic fantasy per se, please take no offense by my broad generalization.

I'm not into doing cars all that much myself - as you will see if you have a look inside my 3dLuvr Gallery (http://www.3dluvr.com/lnt/) (mostly unfinished works though)

but you will sooner or later get to the point where your characters will need some sort of transport y'know :) - I know I have

being able to create a fairly realistic car helps a lot

besides, seeling these items for visualisation projects is far easier than selling that fantasy car above although I will gladly sell it too if anyone's buying :)

but thinking that lw users do mostly stuff that exists would be a huge misconception and even if it was so one can always animate those objects in a totally impossible way - like I can make a car shrink to the size of a mouse to squeeze thru a crack in the wall

but seriously, you need to check out the stuff people like proton and www.evil-plan.com do to see the other side of LW

Amazing models and renders! I always like to add some sort of crit, so if I had to nitpick, I would say the specular highlight on each vehicle (corner facing the camera) looks a little out of place. I realise it probably helps to give the images a little "Pop". Great work, I'm jealous!!!!

thanks for the nice comments guys

being the one who boith modeled and rendered these cars I can tell you they are not 100% accurate in terms of geometry and probably even less acurate in terms of texturing

there is a lot of "artistic interpretation of the curve" in the models
and of course I could never bring myself to model all of the minute car details - there are time limitations to everything as we all know

also, the textures - although based on the real life car appearance and some reference photos I have collected - again I finished them up the way I'd would want them to look

afterall,I wasn't hired by either of the car makers to do this for them,it was for the fun of it

and Facial,I will model the third one as this was originally a three car challenge I set myself to make - each one took about a week of spare time work and the third one should be done within a similar timeframe

Hi there,

Great cars, i like them very much.

I have some suggestions from a compositors point of view.
Bring down the saturation in the cars. The colours are too saturated for the real world scene. Also a little light in the wheel arches would help alot. It seems as if the light under the car is not reflecting back up from the ground. The ground is a light colour therefore there should be a little more light under the cars.
Fixing these problems would improve the images greatly.

It seems also that the light inside the first car (around the seat area), does not match the intensity of the surrounding environment.

The saturation can be brought down easily. For instance if you are using shake grab a hsv colour node and plug the rendered cars alpha into the alpha of the hsv node and then drop down the saturation.

Making a mask around the wheel arches and then doing the same sort of thing might fix the problems. Aswell as around the seat.

Great work, Keep it up. :)

oh guys, with so many new works submitted every day I thought this thread was dead and burried :)

but it got ressurected  (halo, who are you???)

kag122 - funny,if I was to change anything I'd rather turn up the sturation of the background,I like my renders well saturated :)
I personally think ferarri should be very red

VUJEN - I removed the screengrabs but this is LW SubDees, see below for more

Tad - ditto!

Skeeter33 - couldn't agree more :)

regarding the third one I promised... I started and spent about 10 hours modeling it - it is really easy but it takes time and since modeling cars doesnt require much of my personal artistic input and since I tend to work on the projects in parallel it's a bit hard to predict how long each one of them will take

here are the screens but do not comment on these as there is a lot of work to be done on either one of them and this is not a WIP area so I'll ignore any nitpicking hehehehe

Very nice!

What stood out the most for me was the tires... They look fresh from the factory! Adding some dirt or dust would really heighten the realism of these. And I think someone else mentioned that the saturation is a bit much compared to the background; the shadows look terribly darker than any other part of the picture... but that could just be a quick photoshop fix if you render into layers.

Nice models! and i'm guessing the background is a photo, right?
If so, i would suggest you go back and retake it... the aliasing on the roof and the rope are distracting from the crisp render of the car.

ohhhh an s2000!!!!

as halo points out iv modeled one..spent about 6 weeks (part time) on it...and im happy to say i never want to model another car again!!!!:p

yours looks great, is comming along nicely...if it look anything like your other car renders it will be great!

and if you want any reference iv got loads...let me know and ill email you a nice 2000k image full of shots ;)

oh,no :)

since you've modeled it already mushroomgod (looks great!) I'd better run as far away from your model as possible :)

I guess I could model the above given variant or something like that - I tried for a bit last night but without blueprints I cannot be 100% accurate

would you have any spicy s2000 stuff then?

as for people asking me to rerender images etc,I am well aware of those minor issues and can probably find more flaws in them than anyone else but it is not on my immediate agenda, perhaps sometime later

heh, plastic underspoilers are reletively easy to make - np

as for deleting the vents on the hood,I have that simple version of it
but I like to keep various parts of the chassis so I can reassemble them any way I like - the pics you gave me the link to are of a s2000 standard convertible with some fancy front&rear addons
but I like the closed top look of the mugen version

the radiator hole - I make the chassis holes the last in the modeling process coz one never knows when one might need these polys

the "corner" comment is a bit ambiguous though

thanks for the input,I appreciate it
