Hello all, long time reader ( well at least since starting lightwave), first time poster.

I've searched the net, trawled thru the manual, pleaded to the heavens, but i still can't find a way to load an EPS file into lightwave. Could someone please show me the light. I Have Illustrator and Photoshop CS as my disposal, ive tried to output via illustrator with various ascii/tiff settings but stilll can't get it ( btw im on a mac ).

Look on NT's forum, in the Mac section. There's apparently a big issue with that involving filenames and pathway. I'm not sure about the specifics. Beevee knows, so if you don't find anything in the first search, cross reference with his name.

I export the eps as version 3, with a short filename. I have not experienced any trouble doing this with 7.5. I generally use 7.5 instead of 8 for Modeling. EPS loader works without incident.

You can only import vector EPSs into lightwave. Have you this in mind ?

If that is the case... well, i use Corel instead of Illustrator, but from corel exporting a typical EPS do the job, or exporting an Illustrator version 7.0 file also helps, in some cases better than using EPS.

There is also an issue with EPSF.p being in the wrong folder or thats what I read when I went through the Lightwave Essentials book. The ESPF plugin should be located in the input-output folder in the plugins. But I guess since you are posting for help, I guess you get the control panel to open.

Speaking of EPSF, does anyone know what happened to eps exporter? It was under export object in 7.5 modeler, but I can't find it anywhere in 8.

In my case it's where it's supposed to be. Try re-adding the plugin

Try re-adding the plugins and under Construct/UTILITY/Additional pull down theres your Export Encapsulated PostScript. :)
