What ever happened to Mesh Paint:

I never see any examples other then the first ones posted....did anyone find this tool useful? It looked freakin powerful...but I've heard nothing about it.

I remember being pretty excited about it when it came out, it looked so interesting and powerfull! But the polycounts it creates seem prohibitive to me. Which makes it more of a specialty or niche tool I guess...

I have it.. I think it's great. I don't use it by itsself.. I use it to create Sasquatch wigs.

I made this (http://www.carm3d.net/Media/Janette_Expressions.htm) and this (http://www.carm3d.net/Media/Janette_RigTest.htm) with MeshPaint and Sasquatch.

I think if demos were made available, we'd see more results.

Well it is about polygon counts, animation and rendering.

Sometimes I would like to use Meshpaint for doing realistic hair but I think the working time will generally slow down due to heave polycounts and rendering time is usually very long.

Of course I can use Sasquach to do hair but there is still some limitations about light type and shadows, and surface attributes.

So I back to basic technique and do hair by poly.. and modify it hand by hand.
