View Full Version : No sound on divx on a G5...? ANNOYING!

Hi... i have a pc but wanna copy some divx file to a friend... he can see the video but not the audio... we try a few file and its all the same... In mplayer and VLC... even the ac3 codec...
nothing seem to works...

What the problems with those mac?

im sure a lot of mac user can play divx correctly... what the difference...

If anything the problem is the source video. If encoded correctly, divx should play fine on VLC.
Try divx doctor and 3ivx.

The video CODEC used in a video has nothing to do with the audio CODEC used. That means you cannot tell what audio CODEC is used in a video file just by knowing it is encoded in DivX. There are programs such as GSpot that can tell you what CODEC is used in a video file on PC. Maybe there are similar programs for Macs too. Try searching for it.

Yes... i just dont wanna take so much time on that... on pc, if i have BSPLAYER and hogg vorbis codec, i know im in buisness and there is nothing i cant play! That's sad its not the same for mac... right now i cant try anything cause i have a pc but tomorow ill try divx doctor at job! thanks for the cue! :)

SORRY! we try on a new computer this morning with the latest version of VLC and everything is fine!!!
