View Full Version : MetaEffector Problem
My Fault 04-09-2005, 05:51 AM I have a mesh that is built up of different objects and was trying to use MetaEffectors a la Joe Cosman Mini Tut tutorials. However in animate mode the separate sections aren't moving along with the bone all the way, almost looks like it's about 50%. The metaEffector is set to "All Connected", the mesh deform is set to "DirectWeights" and the bone has the correct metaEffector picked, yet still it only partially works. Any ideas why that could be?

Do all of your bones have a meta effector applied or just the one in the middle?

Just the arm right now. I was going to go through and finish them all up in the assumption that maybe it doesn't like the fact that not all the bones have metaeffectors attached, though that seems a bit odd.
OK, did the entire character and it still did not work. Any ideas?

OK, once I assigned every bone to a metaeffector it all worked out just fine. The bones I had that were not supposed to effect the mesh (slip set to 1) I all assigned to a single metaeffector that was not effecting the mesh. Is that right though? Is there an easier way that I am missing?
