I've created a box and i applied a bitmap on it. the problem is that i can see this bitmap after rendering, but not in perspective/top/left/front viewports :annoyed:

any ideas?

this is the result i want to achieve (pic taken from tutorial):

Hey dude,

What you need to do is set your view port to shaded view.

Open your material editor and make sure that you have selected "show map in viewport" button and that's that.

Make sure to hide the reference plains when rendering ;)

dont forget you can also set bitmaps as bg images for refrence

"show map in viewport" button worked fine. the problem was i simply didn't noticed it.

btw, bitmaps as bg images is not a key to solution, because it's impossible to set them accurately (at least for me)

anyway, thanx for the tips (especially Fede)

Apply a uvw map modifier to the plane where you are applying your bitmap, that way you will have greater control over the positioning of the image.

just play with the settings.

For size parity easiest thing to do is make your plane the same number of units as your ref image i.e. 2000x1280 pixels = the same in units. then scale all the planes so that a common element matches in each i.e. the bumper lines etc.
Then set the planes to non-renderable by setting it in their properties.

Cheers
