View Full Version : dvd demoreel resolution...?

When I rendered out my animations from Maya I did them as NTSC (720x486) and then from After Effects as NTSC onto video so it looked right on the TV.
Would it be the same if I was putting it onto a dvd?
The reason I ask is that if I look at a still image on my computer at 720x486 it is squeezed but you can play dvd movies on your computer and it looks fine. Is the dvd player on the computer "fixing" the resolution so it looks right??

what you are seeing is actually the .9 pixel aspect ratio. It will look fine on DVD.

A computer's pixel is square - a TV's pixel is rectangular being taller than it is wide.
