View Full Version : Max4 Bones Scaling
AnimBot 02-14-2002, 03:20 AM I am having an issue with bones skewing in Max 4. Is there any way to non uniform scale max4 bones without getting that glitchy skew rotation problem. I've tried several ways of getting around it but nothing seems to be working properly. Any ideas would be greatly apreciated.

A reset Xform should do the trick... Check the Discreet webforum, someone else (or maybe you) had exactly the same problem over there. :)

You can alter the size of them by adjusting the pivot points or actually change their width and tapering by clicking on a bone and clicking the modify button. It's in the place where you can add fins to the bones.

If you have problems with skewing as you scale it lies in the Hierarchy panel, under the Link Info Panel.. your going to see an "Inherit" area... see all the checks for rotate, move and scale??? select the effected bone and De Select all the scales for that bone.
